The number of Vietnamese students at US universities and colleges rose 5.7% during the academic year 2022-2023, totalling nearly 22,000, making them the fifth-largest group of foreign students in the country.

Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), along with business and management studies, remain the preferred areas of study for Vietnamese students.
