President Nyusi congratulated Vietnam on its remarkable achievements in the fields of politics, society, economic growth and its enhanced position in the international arena. He emphasized the determination of the State and Government of Mozambique in consolidating and developing cooperative relations in all fields with Vietnam.
The two leaders discussed and agreed on specific measures to implement the results of the earlier talks between Party General Secretary and President To Lam and President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi to further promote bilateral cooperation.
In terms of politics, the two sides agreed to continue to increase delegation exchanges at all levels and through Party, State, National Assembly and Government channels to strengthen political trust and create new momentum for enhancing the bilateral cooperation.
The two sides expressed their pleasure at the positive development in economic and trade cooperation between the two countries in recent times, in which bilateral trade turnover in 2023 reached 550 million USD, three times higher than in 2022.

Regarding multilateral cooperation, the two sides agreed to continue to coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums and international organisations, especially at the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement and important organisations of which both nations are members such as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the African Union (AU).
In the context of the rapidly evolving, complicated and unpredictable developments of the global and regional situation, the two sides agreed to continue to closely cooperate and support each other at international and regional forums of mutual concern; share a common vision on ensuring security, safety, freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea; maintain a peaceful, stable environment, and legal order and resolve disputes at sea by peaceful means, in accordance with international law, including the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
