Vietnamese, New Zealand FMs talk on the phone

(VOVWORLD) -During a phone conversation on Wednesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand Winston Peters expressed satisfaction with the effective and extensive development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

They agreed to strengthen cooperation between the two Foreign Ministries, expand delegation exchanges and high-level contacts, and effectively implement the Action Program to boost the Vietnam-New Zealand Strategic Partnership for 2021-2024 and soon negotiate and sign the Action Program for the new period.

The two sides agreed to advance trade and investment cooperation and enhance the effectiveness of the Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee mechanism, as well as people-to-people exchanges through cooperation in education, labor, and tourism. They agreed to closely coordinate to prepare for the upcoming visits of senior leaders of the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Peters called Vietnam an important partner of New Zealand in the region both geopolitically and economically and said the two countries share common views and visions on regional and global issues. He suggested that the two countries consider expanding cooperation in climate change response and digital transformation commensurate with the level of bilateral relations.

The two sides also agreed to continue promoting coordination and cooperation at multilateral forums.
