Vietnamese masks on display at India’s Asian art exhibition

(VOVWORLD) - The National Crafts Museum in New Delhi is hosting an exhibition called “Pratirupa: Masks in the Asian Cultural Exchange”, showcasing an impressive collection of 100 ceremonial and performance masks from Asian countries.

The exhibition, running until July 23, features Vietnamese Harvest Festival masks.

Carved from wood, a mask depicting an old man’s face, etched by time, often appears in folk plays associated with festivals celebrating a bountiful harvest. The mask symbolizes the wisdom, fulfillment, and joy of farmers.
