The festival showcases a wide variety of genres, including water puppetry, string puppets, rod puppets, mask puppets, costumed puppets, foot puppets, and stomach puppets, among others.

Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Head of Hai Phong City’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, said, "The organizers aim to introduce to locals and visitors a festival that is filled with vibrant colors of traditional art. This is an opportunity for puppeteers to be closer to the audience, who will immerse themselves in a space of traditional art in the heart of a 70-year-old city now rising in a new era of national development."

As part of the program, a march will be held in celebration of the 2025 Red Flamboyant Flower Festival, involving over 3,000 performers, artisans, local residents, as well as international friends, foreign students, and experts living and working in Hai Phong.
