The leaders were speaking at a special networking breakfast with the leadership of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN BAC) on the sidelines of the 44th and 45th ASEAN Summits in Vientiane, Laos.
Prime Minister Chinh called their tradition of solidarity, close bonds, and mutual support a valuable asset, a foundation for developing their cooperative relations and mutual trust, and a key component of Vietnam-Laos-Cambodia solidarity.
The establishment and effective implementation of many tripartite cooperation mechanisms in recent times have reinforced relations, the Prime Minister said. Their economy-trade-investment collaboration has recorded strong progress, but has yet to equal the political and diplomatic ties among the three countries, he added.
Prime Minister Chinh said he hopes the business communities within ASEAN will continue to collaborate with and Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia and exploit economic links to the same degree as links in geography, history, politics, and diplomacy.
