(VOVworld)- Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong reaffirmed his pledge to encourage Singaporean enterprises to invest in Viet Nam, while receiving Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh in Singapore yesterday. The Singaporean leader expressed his delight at the continuing prosperous relations between the two countries, highlighting the visit of President Truong Tan Sang to Singapore last September and the upcoming visit by Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam to Vietnam.

During Minh’s meeting with his Singaporean counterpart K Sanmugam, the two sides agreed on closer cooperation to promote delegation exchanges at all levels. On multilateral ties, both sides promised cooperation in regional and international forums, and in efforts to a strong and united ASEAN community by 2015. The two ministers shared thoughts on ensuring peace, stability, and safety as well as free navigation in the East Sea and settling disputes through peaceful means in accordance with international law, especially the 1982 United Nation Convention on the Law of the Sea and the Declaration of the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea while soon compiling a Code of Conduct in the East Sea.

The same day, Minister Minh laid a wreath at the Ho Chi Minh Marker on the Asian Civilizations Museum Green.
