(VOVworld) – The 1945 August Revolution and the National Independence Day on September 2 are of great historical significance to Vietnamese people, said Vietnamese ambassador to Russia Pham Xuan Son at yesterday’s reception in Moscow to mark Vietnam’s 67th Independence Day. The ambassador also spoke highly of the Soviet’s Great Patriotic War and highlighted that Vietnam and Russia are facilitating their comprehensive strategic partnership to further develop.

Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov praised Vietnam’s recent achievements, believing that the two countries’ relationship will witness a giant step forward, especially in economics and finance. Morgulov said Vietnam remains a priority in Russia’s foreign policies in Asia-Pacific region and acts as an important bridge for Russia to deepen its relations with other Southeast Asian nations.
