(VOVworld) – Staff of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia visited Vietnamese fishermen detained at Miri prison in Sarawak, east Malaysia. The staff worked with prison officials to try to bring these fishermen home before the lunar New Year festival. Ambassador Pham Cao Phong delivered Tet gifts to the fishermen.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia called for better communication to fishermen on Vietnamese and international law to prevent violations of other countries’ territorial waters by boats fishing offshore.
