Next Tuesday Chairman Hue will lead a high-ranking NA delegation to pay an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran at the invitation of Speaker of the Iranian Consultative Assembly Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.

Ambassador Huy told VOV’s correspondent in the Middle East that the visit is of great significance as it coincides with the 50th founding anniversary of their diplomatic relations, and is the first visit by a top Vietnamese legislator to Iran since 1999.

During the 3-day visit, Mr. Hue will hold talks with speaker Ghalibaf and chair a law and policy forum to promote economic, trade, and investment ties.

He will give a speech on foreign policy at the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS), attend the opening of Vietnam Culture Week in Iran, and visit several cultural, scientific, and high-tech facilities.

Ambassador Huy said that the upcoming visit to Iran by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the visits by Vietnamese Party and State leaders to other countries so far this year reiterate Vietnam’s foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, and taking the initiative in international integration, multilateralization, and diversification of relations that was set by the 13th National Party Congress.

“I strongly believe that Mr. Hue’s forthcoming visit to Iran will raise the relationship to a new level,” the Vietnamese diplomat said.
