(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Minister of National Defense General Phan Van Giang, representing the President of Vietnam, has concluded a working visit to Cambodia over the past three days.

During the visit, he awarded the Labor Order, Second Class to Metfone, a subsidiary of Viettel Military Telecommunications Group operating in Cambodia.

Speaking at the award ceremony, General Phan Van Giang emphasized that the Labor Order, Second Class is in recognition Metfone’s remarkable achievements over the past 15 years, its significant business success and contributions to Cambodia's socio-economic development and strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and Cambodia

General Phan Van Giang said: “We hope Metfone will continue to excel, solidify, and further promote its role as a symbol of successful cooperation and an essential bridge in fostering the strong and friendly relationship between our two nations and militaries. Building solidarity and unity among Vietnamese and Cambodian cadres and employees is vital. Metfone’s leadership and staff must deeply understand their responsibilities in preserving and enhancing the image of our country and the reputation of ‘Uncle Ho’s soldiers,’ not only in Vietnam but also in the hearts of the Cambodian people.”

Metfone is a key partner in Cambodia's national digital transformation efforts, collaborating with various ministries and government agencies. It has introduced outstanding solutions in education, healthcare, and financial services, further cementing its strategic role in Cambodia's development.
