(VOVworld)- At the 2013 Miss Universe contest in Moscow last night, a Vietnamese Ao dai modeled by Truong Thi May topped the list of 5 best national costumes. May’s dress was inspired by a lotus theme and was considered “too impressive to be missed”. Truong Thi May’s dress was designed by Thuan Viet with lotus motifs, gold brocade and detailed embroidery patterns. The principal colors are bronze and magenta with crystal dots. Truong Thi May said: I’m proud to be a Vietnamese girl. I always hope and try my best. Each contestant has their strong points but I will develop my own strength. I’m proud of two words: Viet Nam. I hope you will support me.

Many Vietnamese and the Women’s Union of the Overseas Vietnamese in Russia have bought tickets to attend the next round of the contest to support contestant Truong Thi May. In response, May will do her best in the semifinal round on Tuesday and the final round on Saturday.
