A ceremony to raise the national flags of 11 countries competing was held at Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur Wednesday.
The Vietnamese delegation comprises of 681 members, including 471 athletes. They will take part in 32 out of the 38 events and are targeting between 49 and 59 gold medals.
President of the Vietnam Shooting Federation Do Van Binh said Vietnamese shooters are striving to bring home three gold medals at the SEA Games in Malaysia. The Federation said it will award 13,000 USD if the Vietnamese shooting team ranks 1st at the games and 8,600 USD for second place. Each gold medal winner will receive 1,300 USD.
