During the meeting, General Secretary and President Xi applauded the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam for electing a new leadership, formulating the theory of the renewal direction, and opening a new era of development for the Vietnamese nation.
The Chinese top leader expressed his confidence that the Vietnamese people, under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, will successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th Congress, successfully build socialism in accordance with the country's situation, and achieve the two centenary goals commemorating the founding of the Party (2030) and the founding of the nation (2045).
General Secretary and President Xi reiterated his readiness to maintain regular strategic exchanges with General Secretary Lam. He emphasized that China's adoption of the 15th Five-Year Plan at the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in March 2026 will bring even more opportunities for cooperation and development with other countries, including Vietnam.
The Chinese top leader expressed his hope that both sides would further improve the quality and effectiveness of cooperation in various fields, encourage local cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, and strive to promote the comprehensive strategic partnership and a community with a shared future between China and Vietnam.
The special envoy shared the major outcomes of the 14th National Party Congress and affirmed the consistent stance of the Vietnamese Party, State, and General Secretary To Lam that Vietnam values and gives top priority to boosting cooperative relations with China; and is willing to work with China to advance on the new development path.
The foreign affairs and diplomatic agencies of the two Parties and two countries are determined and have reached a common understanding on taking concrete measures to realize the guiding principles of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, striving to develop the Vietnam-China comprehensive strategic partnership and community with a shared future in a more substantive and profound manner, Trung said.
