Mr. Pham Hai Anh made the statement during a UN Security Council (UNSC) meeting on the situation in Syria on Friday. He affirmed that the only solution for peace and stability in Syria is a political one initiated and led by the Syrian people in accordance with international law on the basis of respecting Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He underscored the necessity of maintaining long-term peace and stability to facilitate talks and enhance diplomatic efforts for the political process while providing continuous support to help Syria overcome its many socio-economic and humanitarian challenges during its fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
