Vietnam values relations with Indonesia, President says

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam values its relationship with Indonesia, a leading strategic partner in the region, and always promotes a healthy, stable, sustainable and long-term development of the relationship with Indonesia in economics, security, defense, culture, education, tourism and people-to-people exchanges, said President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Receiving Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto in Hanoi on Friday, President Phuc highly appreciated the outcomes of talks between the Defense Ministers of Vietnam and Indonesia, suggesting that the two ministries increase consultation and mutual support in multilateral forums and maintain ASEAN's common stance on regional issues, including the East Sea.

Vietnam pledges to support Indonesia to successfully assume the role of ASEAN Chair in 2023 and hopes that Indonesia will actively contribute to building a united and developed ASEAN community, President Phuc said.
