At a working session in Hanoi on Friday with Minister of Finance of Vietnam Ho Duc Phoc, Yellen said the US government will increase priorities to develop sustainable supply chains amid the world economic fluctuations.

Minister Phoc spoke highly of Yellen’s proposals and reiterated the efforts by the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam to boost the bilateral financial cooperation.

He said he hopes the US Secretary of the Treasury will continue to play an important role in promoting the comprehensive cooperation in the financial sector between the two countries.

Talking to the Vietnamese media on Friday morning, Secretary Yellen said Vietnam is a bright spot in the global economy and has become an important member in the global economic arena and supply chain.

She said she believes that economic dynamism and strong growth momentum will help Vietnam achieve its goal of becoming a high-income country by 2045.
