(VOVworld)- A defense policy dialogue between Vietnam and the US took place in Hanoi on Tuesday. Deputy Defense Minister Nguyen Chi VInh and Deputy Assistance Secretary of Defense for South and Southeast Asia Amy Searight exchanged views on regional and global issues. They reviewed the implementation of a MOU on bilateral defense cooperation, MIA searches, bombs, mine and unexploded ordnance clearance, and Agent Orange/dioxin clean-up. They emphasized the need for increased collaboration in human resources training, UN peacekeeping missions, army medicine, natural disaster relief, and search and rescue.

The same day, the US guests were received by Minister of National Defense General Phung Quang Thanh, who said the dialogue will strengthen bilateral comprehensive partnership.
