Vietnam, US give high priority to comprehensive partnership

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and the US will coordinate closely to prepare for the upcoming phone talks between Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and US President Joe Biden, according to a meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and President Biden held as part of the 40th and 41st ASEAN Summits and related summits in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on Saturday.

Both sides agreed to arrange high-level mutual visits when conditions permit. 

PM Chinh and President Biden affirmed that they treasure and give high priority to the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership and agreed to increase dialogues and exchanges at all levels, especially high-level ones. 

President Biden suggested the two countries strongly promote bilateral cooperation and capitalize on untapped potential to develop the relationship intensively and effectively. 

PM Chinh conveyed Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s invitations to President Biden to visit Vietnam. The US leader promised to make the trip at an appropriate time.
