The project has led to improvements in disease detection and response and can serve as a model for enhancing global health security in other parts of the world.

During six months of cooperation (from July 2013 to January 2014), the CDC worked with Vietnam’s Ministry of Health to modernize diagnostic testing for high-risk pathogens, and develop real-time information systems to meet the demand for faster services. This will improve emergency operations like safe packaging and transport of potentially infectious samples.
