Vietnam, UK boost cooperation in fighting Covid-19

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese Deputy Foreign Minister To Anh Dung on Thursday held a phone talk with UK Foreign Office Minister Nigel Adams discussing bilateral cooperation in combating Covid-19 and measures to boost bilateral ties.

Mr. Dung cited Vietnam’s disease prevention measures and the government’s determination to curb the spread of the pandemic and efforts to protect Vietnamese citizens at home and abroad. He said Vietnam is ready to share its experience in coping with the disease and hoped the UK will share its experience and research on Covid-19 treatment to improve the health care system’s capacity. He asked the UK to help Vietnamese citizens stay safe and healthy amid the epidemic. Mr. Nigel Adams praised Vietnam’s achievements in fighting Covid-19 and urged the two countries to share experience and strengthen cooperation in combating the disease. The two leaders stressed the importance of improving current cooperation mechanisms to boost ties in politics, economics, security, defense, education and culture as well as at international forums.
