Vietnam treasures partnership with China: Deputy PM

During talks with State Councilor and Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi in Hanoi on Sunday, Deputy PM Minh called on China to facilitate Vietnamese goods’ entry into the Chinese market, boost healthy and balanced trade, strengthen win-win cooperation in agriculture, environment, climate change adaptation, and science and technology. Mr. Minh called on both sides to strictly implement senior leaders’ common perceptions, the agreement on basic principles guiding settlement of sea-related issues between Vietnam and China, persistently settle disputes in the East Sea through peaceful means in line with international law, including the UN Convention of the Law of the Sea. The Deputy PM also asked for full and effective implementation of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (DOC), discussions with ASEAN countries on Code of Conduct of Parties in the East Sea (COC), and refraining from actions that make situation complicated to maintain peace and stability in the East Sea.

Foreign Minister Wang said China treasures the constant consolidation and development of the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership with Vietnam. He added that China is ready to join Vietnam’s effort in strengthening strategic exchanges and political trust, deepening win-win cooperation, satisfactorily settling disputes, boosting a healthy and stable relationship between the two countries for the benefits of the two peoples, and contributing to regional peace, stability, and prosperity.
