The train will carry a total of 23 containers of furniture products by Swedish brand IKEA.

Departing from Da Nang, it will stop at Dong Dang International Railway Station to get customs clearance to enter China and continue its trip to Zhengzhou railway station before connecting to the Asia-Europe train to reach European countries and unload its goods at Liege (Belgian), Hamburg (Germany), and Melzo (Italy).

Vietnam’s first freight train left Hanoi for Belgium last July carrying containers of garments, textiles, and leather shoes. Every three weeks a train departs Yen Vien Railway Station in Hanoi to Europe.

Vietnam’s railway sector transports electronic devices, garments and textiles, leather and footwear, cosmetics, frozen food, and fruit to Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Poland, the UK, and Germany.
