Vietnam takes lead in Southeast Asia’s mobile payment growth

(VOVWORLD) - The growth of the number of people making mobile payments in stores in Vietnam is at its most rapid to date in Southeast Asia, the Global Consumer Insights Survey 2019 by PwC revealed.

Vietnam’s mobile payments increased to 61% of digital payments in 2019 from 37% in the previous year. The PwC survey, conducted in 27 territories and countries worldwide, showed that Southeast Asia is leading the customer shift to mobile payments users. Thailand was ranked second in the region by rising from 19% to 67%, followed by Malaysia and the Philippines.
