During the meeting, Mr. Marcus Wallenberg, Chairman of the Board of SEB Group, head of the Wallenberg Group, and representative of several companies including AstraZeneca and Ericsson explored investment opportunities in Vietnam in energy, finance, science, technology, and telecommunications.
Regarding the prospects for Swedish businesses to invest in clean energy production and the development of Vietnam’s power transmission network, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính said Vietnam has issued Power Development Plan VIII and adopted the Law on Electricity and multiple resolutions aimed at promoting private sector development and mobilizing investment in the power sector. Vietnam has joined the ASEAN power grid and plans to supply clean electricity to countries like Malaysia and Singapore. These developments present significant opportunities for Swedish enterprises to invest in these areas.
Prime Minister CHinh said cooperation and investment in research, development, and production of robotics and semiconductors are priority areas where Vietnam is actively seeking investment.
He urged Swedish businesses to invest capital, transfer technology, share management expertise, and help train human resources to develop these industries in Vietnam.
