(VOVworld) – Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister in charge of Asia Ahmed Ismail praised the traditional friendship between Egypt and Vietnam during a working session with a Vietnamese delegation from the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee's Commission for External Relations, led by deputy head Nguyen Tuan Phong. Ahmed showed his deep concern over the complicated situation in the East Sea, adding that Egypt supports Vietnam’s efforts to settle East Sea-related issues through political negotiations and peaceful solutions. Nguyen Tuan Phong briefed his host on Vietnam’s current, touching especially China’s illegal placement of its oil rig in Vietnam’s exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. The two discussed ways to enhance bilateral ties, increase exchanges of delegations, accelerate the implementation of signed agreements, and outline a roadmap for the 5th meeting of the Inter-Government Committee. The delegation worked with leaders of the Egyptian Communist Party, the Socialist Party of Egypt, and the New Wafd Party.
