(VOVworld) – Vietnam pledges to co-operate with other countries and international organisations to fight terrorism and ensure human rights, said Ambassador Nguyen Trung Thanh, head of Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the UN in Geneva at a session of the UN Human Rights Council on Tuesday.

He said terrorist acts must be punished, in order to protect national security, public order, safety, and human dignity. Mr Thanh said that as a member of the international conventions on human rights and counter-terrorism, Vietnam condemns all terrorism activity and violence against civilians and has implemented several anti-terror measures, including the Anti-Terrorism Law of 2013.
