The Coast Guard force has strengthened measures to prevent and combat IUU fishing and crimes and violations at sea in Ba Ria-Vung Tau and Ben Tre province. 8 to 10 ships and drones are regularly on duty to patrol and manage IUU fishing and search and rescue at the maritime boundaries.

The installation of the Marine Vessel Trackers (MVT) has been sped up. Inter-sectoral monitoring teams have been set up to detect and handle fishing vessels that disconnect the MVTs or cross the marine border into foreign waters for illegal fishing.
Violations of IUU fishing rules have been strictly handled and made public in mass media for education and deterrence purposes.
