In his address, PM Chinh said economic, investment, and trade cooperation is the pillar in the Vietnam-Singapore strategic partnership, emphasizing the need to connect the two economies, especially in emerging fields such as digital transformation, green transformation, circular economy, sharing economy, innovation, and human resource training. He said Vietnam aims to expand the model of Vietnam-Singapore industrial parks in a sustainable manner to create industrial-innovation-urban-service-high-tech ecosystems in various localities.

The Vietnamese Prime Minister also expressed his hope for continued support from Singapore in accessing green and sustainable financial sources.

PM Chinh affirmed the Vietnamese government’s commitment to creating favorable conditions for businesses, including those from Singapore.

The Singaporean PM emphasized the significance of 2023 in the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Singapore, as both countries will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership.

He expressed his hopes that VSIPs will further contribute Vietnam's economic growth and foster further bilateral economic progress. PM Lee also called for continued support and favorable conditions from governments at all levels to facilitate investment cooperation between the two countries.

At the event, the two PMs witnessed the launch of the Vietnam-Singapore Innovation Centre in Binh Duong, as well as the announcement of decisions allowing a number of activities to explore maritime resources and infrastructure development for the export of electricity from Vietnam to Singapore, and a cooperation agreement on the development of 12 new VSIP projects in cities and provinces across Vietnam. They also kickstarted some projects, including VSIP Can Tho, VSIP Bac Ninh 2 and VISIP Nghe An 2.

The conference was hosted by the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Government Office, the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore in Vietnam, in coordination with the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Venture Company (VSIP).
