Sergei Uyanaev, deputy director of the Institute of Far Eastern Studies under the Russian Academy of Science, said this is the time for Vietnam and Russia to review the achievements, potentials, and responsibilities of their bilateral ties.

"Russia will develop ties with Vietnam in various fields, from politics and economics to defense and military technical cooperation. Bilateral ties attach great importance to establishing diverse and effective cooperation in the region. Vietnam and Russia closely collaborate in major multilateral forums. They also have an effective cooperation mechanism in the Vietnam-Russia Intergovernmental Committee on economic-trade and science-technology cooperation," said Mr. Uyanaev.

The seminar covered strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia and cooperation in military, politics, information, trade, economics, immigration, culture, science, and technology. Participants suggested ways to boost bilateral ties.
