(VOVworld)-The Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs held a meeting in Hanoi on Sunday to mark the World Day for People with Disabilities. Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Trong Dam said the Party and State have always cared for the disabled as the country has more than 6 million people with disabilities, representing 6.3% of the population. The Ministry has finetuned policies for the disabled in line with Vietnam’s political commitment at international treaties it had joined. The Ministry launched writing and drawing contests to praise for people with disability in community integration. A job bazaar for people with disabilities and many other cultural and sport events for the disabled took place on this occasion.
