Vietnam, Republic of Korea share similar strategic interests, says PM

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam and Republic of Korea share similar strategic interests in the development of each country as well as views on many global and regional issues, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh told Republic of Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on Friday on the sidelines of the expanded G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan.

Vietnam unswervingly values relations with the Republic of Korea and wishes to further develop cooperation between the two countries, in which economic and trade cooperation is the focus and political trust is the cornerstone, contributing to peace and prosperity in the region and the world, PM Chinh said.

President Yoon reiterated respect for relations with Vietnam who the Republic Korea considers one of the leading partners in the region and is willing to cooperate with to promote close cooperation in many aspects, especially in the fields of Korea's strengths and Vietnam's needs. He stressed the need to develop the bilateral Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a more substantive and effective manner.
