Vietnam reports 272 new COVID-19 infections Monday

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam recorded 133 new local COVID-19 cases Monday evening in 6 localities, raising the total infection number in the day to 272.

The latest domestic infections were recorded in HCM city (70), Bac Giang (30), Binh Duong (21), Bac Ninh (6), Da Nang (4), and Hung Yen.

130 cases were detected in quarantine facilities or locked-down areas and the others are being contact traced.  

Vietnam also confirmed one more coronavirus-related death on Monday, bringing the national tally to 67. The 75-year-old man tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 on June 14, with underlying diseases of type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipidemia.

Vietnam has recorded more than 13,300 cases since COVID-19 first hit the country early last year.
