In his opening remarks, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, who is President of COP27, said climate change threatens human life and the current pattern of industrial growth is no longer sustainable and must be changed or it will lead to dire consequences. He called for moving from negotiations and pledges to an era of implementation as a priority.

120 heads of state and government will deliver their national statements to the Sharm El-Sheikh Climate Implementation Summit (SCIS) on Monday and Tuesday.
