"Vietnam has issued policies and programs to promote sustainable renewable energy development. The Politburo resolution 55 points out guidelines for Vietnam’s energy development strategy in the future and emphasizes the need for a breakthrough policy to tap the potential of domestic renewable energy, reduce dependence on imported fuels, and focus on wind and power energy development to ensure national energy security and replace the fossil energy which is drying out," said Nguy Thi Khanh, Director of the GreenID Development Center.
Cecile Leroy from the EU Delegation in Vietnam said the EU is ready to share knowledge on projects, finance, and the legal framework for green recovery and development.
Renewable energy currently accounts for 10 percent of the national grid’s total capacity and Vietnam has emerged as a leader in the development of renewable energy resources in Southeast Asia.
