Vietnam records 17,000 cases of COVID-19 in a day

(VOVWORLD) - In 24 hours until 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Vietnam recorded 17,017 new COVID-19 cases, of which 20 were imported and 16,997 were recorded domestically in 63 provinces and cities.

Vietnam’s caseload has so far hit 1,817,721, ranking 30 out of 224 countries and territories. Calculated by the ratio of infections per 1 million people, Vietnam ranks 143.

During the day, an additional 22,662 patients were given the all clear, raising the total number of recoveries to 1,436,046. 230 more deaths were reported.

As of Wednesday, Vietnam had administered more than 155 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine. The coverage rate of at least one dose of vaccine is 99.7% and the rate of two doses is 91.3% of the population aged 18 years and older.
