Earlier on Wednesday the Vietnamese delegation presented its preparations for hosting the 132nd IPU Assembly in 2015 with the Secretary-General of the IPU in Geneva on October 15.

At the meeting, Tran Van Hang, Chairman of the National Assembly Committee on Foreign Relations briefed Vietnam’s preparations in logistics and working agenda. IPU Secretary-General Martin Chungong said he is impressed by Vietnam’s efforts: “I realise that if we ask the Vietnamese National Assembly to host the meeting today, they will be ready to do so. My colleagues and I were very impressed by the preparations which have been done. Organising the assembly is a good opportunity for Vietnam to showcase the progress they have made and also for the global parliamentary community to share with Vietnam their own experience in boosting democracy and governance.”
