The Ministry of Health is urged to closely monitor the global situation, respond promptly to prevent Vietnam’s health system from getting overwhelmed, and guide local authorities on how to respond to different levels of severity.

Though no Omicron cases have been detected in Vietnam, the number of COVID-19 infections and related deaths has been on the rise and the health care systems in some localities have become overloaded, the dispatch said.
