VNAT Director General Nguyen Trung Khanh said the program in Beijing is the first of a series of promotional activities to introduce Vietnamese tourism in three major Chinese cities – Beijing, Chongqing, and Chengdu – organized to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, and the Vietnam–China Year of Humanistic Exchange 2025.
"Our presence in Beijing today, within the framework of the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Program 2025, demonstrates the shared determination of our tourism sectors to promote exchanges, cooperation, and sustainable development, further strengthening our traditional friendship and neighborly relations," said Mr. Khanh.
Mr. Zhu Yihai, Deputy Director of the Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, said: "In recent years, Vietnam’s tourism industry has developed rapidly. Vietnam has become an attractive destination for Chinese tourists, particularly travelers from Tianjin. The tourism promotion event organized in Beijing by the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism significantly boosts tourism cooperation and exchanges between China and Vietnam, and enhances the friendship and close partnership between our two countries."
In recent years, China has been Vietnam’s leading source of international visitors, with arrivals exceeding 5.8 million per year, about 30% of total international visitors to Vietnam. In the first nine months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed 3.9 million Chinese visitors, up 43% year-on-year, maintaining China’s position as Vietnam’s number one tourist market.
Vietnam, meanwhile, is one of the top five foreign markets sending tourists to China for tours, cultural–culinary trips, and shopping trips.
