She affirmed that Vietnam has been actively and proactively promoting balanced and sustainable trade and investment cooperation with the US on the basis of effectiveness, frankness, equality, mutual respect, and mutual benefit.

According to the spokesperson, negotiations between Vietnam and the US concerning the US's reciprocal tariff policy on Vietnamese exports are being carried out and further details will be provided in due course

On Tuesday, representatives from the US Embassy in Vietnam, the US Chamber of Commerce in Hanoi, and major American enterprises praised the Vietnamese Government’s goodwill and openness in facilitating trade and investment discussions.

They highlighted Vietnam’s consistent efforts to listen, collaborate, and remove obstacles to boost bilateral trade ties. As a result, economic, trade, and investment ties have become a “cornerstone” of the bilateral relationship and Vietnam is now one of the United States’ key partners in the region.
