After 18 years of being held at the Temple of Literature,  this year, for the first time, the Vietnam Writers Association chose the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long - Hanoi as the venue for Vietnam Poetry Day.

The event featured a Poetry Street, a Book Street, poetry talks, and poem recitations and discussions.

Nguyen Thien Phuong, a student from Hanoi, said she’s impressed with the program.

“I feel like I’ve learned a lot. I’ve gotten to know many authors and their work. Through these programs, young people learn about Vietnamese literature,” said Phuong.

The main art program of Poetry Day took place in front of Doan Mon Gate, where poets recited their poems and interacted with audiences.
