Speaker of the House of Representatives of India, Om Birla, has told the Vietnamese press on the occasion of Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue’s official visit to India later this week.

Mr. Birla underlined that the Vietnam-India 50-year ties have been developed on a firm foundation of cultural connections as well as strong mutual trust and understanding.

He said that keeping with the spirit of “Act East Policy”, India hopes to enhance both physical and digital connectivity with Vietnam, adding the two countries should promote bilateral ties through the ASEAN framework as well as other multilateral mechanisms.
