The proposal was released at an online meeting between the Committee with representatives of the Olympic committees of the participating nations and the Southeast Asian Sports Federation Office on Wednesday.

The Olympic committees of Southeast Asian countries will report Vietnam's proposal to their higher authorities before a decision is made after two weeks.

The final decision on whether to reschedule the Games will be made by the Southeast Asian Sports Council.

The 2021 SEA Games was originally scheduled to take place in Hanoi, Vietnam, from  November 21 to December  2  and will feature 40 sports.
This is the second time Vietnam will host the SEA Games since 2003. SEA Games is a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia.
