(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is ready to share its experience with Mozambique in aquaculture and agro-aquatic product processing, helping to ensure food security in Mozambique and the region, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan said at a meeting on Tuesday in Maputo with Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi, who is also President of the Mozambican Liberation Front (Frelimo) Party.

The two leaders agreed to step up delegation exchanges and high-level meetings through the Party, State, and people-to-people exchange channels.

President Nyusi pledged to create optimal conditions for Vietnamese businesses to invest in Mozambique in such areas as telecoms and mining, and suggested that Vietnam open a vocational school and send medical experts to Mozambique.

Madam Xuan also had a meeting Tuesday with Roque Silva, Secretary-General of Frelimo, at which the two agreed on the need to implement the decisions of online talks between General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and Filipe Nyusi last June, to step up cooperation in personnel training, and to forge stronger bilateral economic ties.

To create a framework for the cooperation, the two sides agreed to accelerate the signing of an agreement between the two Parties in the new period.

Madam Xuan also met with President of the Assembly of Mozambique Esperança Bias, and the two said they hope to make parliamentary relations an important channel for implementing each country's foreign policy.

They agreed to increase exchanges of delegations at all levels, promote the oversight role of the two legislatures, closely cooperate and support each other at inter-parliamentary forums such as the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), and effectively implement the MoU reached by the two parliaments on the occasion of Bias’s Vietnam visit last year.

While in Mozambique, the Vice President met with the staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Mozambique.

Vice President Xuan reiterated the Party and State’s concern for the Vietnamese community in Mozambique.

She said that Vietnamese people are always united and support each other to stabilize their lives, integrate into the local community, contribute to national development, and act as a bridge to strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
