Over the past 11 months, Vietnam earned 5.2 billion USD from fruit and vegetable exports, up 70% over last year.
China is the biggest customer, buying 66% of all Vietnamese fruit and vegetable exports. Other major importers are the US, South Korea, and Japan.
Meanwhile, Vietnam’s imports fell 5.8%, creating a trade surplus of 3.4 billion USD.
VINAFRUIT Secretary General Đặng Phúc Nguyên said that in the last two months fruit and vegetable exports decreased because Vietnam's durian season had ended. with export value over the past 10 months likely reaching more than 2 billion USD.
The Association expects durian exports in 2023 to earn 2.3 billion USD, 43% of Vietnam’s total vegetable and fruit export revenue.
