(VOVworld) - The Lao Embassy in Hanoi hosted a banquet on Monday to mark the 40th anniversary of Laos’ National Day on December 2.

Lao Ambassador Thongsavanh Phomvihane underlined the continuous development of the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries in all areas over the past four decades despite the complicated and unpredictable changes in regional and international situations.
Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan said the Vietnam-Laos ties have developed promptly over 40 years and resulted in practical benefits for the two peoples, especially the improved cooperation in politics, security, and defense.
Madam Doan said “the Vietnamese Party and State always give the highest priority to consolidating the traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation with Laos, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large. On behalf of the Vietnamese Party, state, and people, I’d like to congratulate Lao people and wish you under the leadership of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party to continue achieving even greater successes in protecting and constructing a peaceful, independent, democratic, united and prosperous nation.”
