Mr. Chinh told Mr. Outhakaysone, who is also Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army, that as defence cooperation is a key pillar of Vietnam-Laos relations, stepping up defence ties is one of Vietnam’s top priorities.
PM Chinh said that in an unpredictable world, Vietnam and Laos should be united, have a good grasp of the situation, and share information so as to respond to any crises.
He urged the two armies to share experience in armed forces and Party building; train personnel; build a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development; fight smuggling and drug trafficking; and coordinate to deal with regional and global issues.
