Vietnam, Japan localities seek to boost cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam is ready to operate direct flights to Kagoshima prefecture of Japan, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said at a reception for Kagoshima governor Mitazono Satoshi in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Phuc expressed his condolences for the loss of Japanese lives caused by the storm Hagibis. He said Vietnam and Japan are strategic partners and he hopes Kagoshima will boost people exchanges and tourism cooperation with Vietnamese localities.

Mr. Satoshi said he hopes Kagoshima prefecture and Vietnamese localities can enhance their agricultural collaboration. He said that during his visit, the Japanese delegation has signed a memorandum of cooperation with Hai Duong province in human resources and agriculture technology. He said Japan always takes good care of the Vietnamese community and creates favorable conditions for Vietnamese to study and work in Japan, particularly in Kagoshima.
