It will be shot in Hanoi, and the northern provinces of Hoa Binh and Ninh Binh. Based on an autobiographical novel by Miyuki Komatsu, the story is about Japanese teacher Shaso Misao and her 82-year-old mother. Shaso Misao, 60, had come to Vietnam to teach Japanese, but could not stop thinking about her mother, who had dementia, living alone in Japan. She convinced her mother, Sasho Shizue, to come live with her.  Together they found a whole new life in Hanoi.
