Both leaders briefed each other on the situation in their countries and exchanged views on bilateral relations as well as on regional and international issues of shared concern, including the East Sea issues. They agreed that all disputes should be settled by peaceful means in accordance with international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, and the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea, and soon build a Code of Conduct. President Sang spoke at a press briefing after the talks: "We have agreed to continue the effective implementation of an intergovernmental economic committee between Vietnam and Hungary and create favorable conditions for businesses on both sides. We hope that this year’s Vietnam – Hungary Business Forum, to be held in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City during President Ader’s visit to Vietnam, will help investors from both countries to explore business opportunities and reach cooperative agreements."

President Janos said: "Both sides have shown a determination to boost cooperation, especially in economics and trade, as evidenced in the exchange of visits of both countries’ leaders within the last year. Bilateral trade turnover has increased by 60% over last year and cooperation in various fields has been very effective.   Marking the occasion, both leaders witnessed the signing of several cooperation agreements in information and communications, as well as in agriculture."
